SUSAN'S STORY

_ADS0855 copy_edited.jpg

Susan has always had a passion for textiles and has lived, studied and worked in the UK, US and Europe.

On and off for nearly 30 years she has lived in Notting Hill in London, where she has her textiles studio. Susan designs her own range of fabrics and braids for upholstery, curtains and interior decoration and has a small and highly regarded interior design practice, currently working in the UK, US and Middle East. Susan has twice been on House & Garden's list of Top 100 Decorators.

Since the early days of selling cushions made from textiles that Susan had collected on holidays by a local tailor in Notting Hill, Susan has expanded her business a lot. She sells limited edition cushions, hand-made lamps and lampshades and upholstered furniture plus a frequently replenished stock of decorative objects and fine art, ikats, spectacular suzanis and kilims.   Many items are made bespoke to clients' specifications. All decorative, beautifully made, useful and highly individual.

For interior design projects, Susan's approach and style were best summed up by one of her clients:

"Susan’s approach is to listen to the client and listen to the house and then bring the space alive using a sophisticated and nuanced combination of colour, pattern and design. Susan helps her clients see a house’s potential in a new way without them having to let go of their own story."

Susan Deliss's work has been extensively featured in "House and Garden", "World of Interiors", "Country Life","Homes and Gardens", "Homes and Antiques", "The English Home" the "London Evening Standard", the FT "How to Spend it", the Sunday Times "Style" and, in the USA, "House Beautiful" and "Veranda" and other publications.  Susan's decorating practice is extremely busy with work in 2022 in England, Col0mbia and in Boston, LA and Palm Beach in the USA.  Susan does all the design work herself.
