Many of Susan Deliss' fabrics are inspired by fragments of old weaves that she has found on her travels. "Batik" is different, as it is inspired by printed textiles, more specifically by the Indonesian process of wax-resist dyeing applied to whole cloths, originating in the island of Java. Batik in Indonesia is mostly used for figurative and floral patterns but here Susan Deliss took inspiration from the dots in the batik cloths in her private collection and, working very closely with her weavers in England, turned them into a regular woven pattern that can be used for interiors.
This elegant and versatile all-over pattern fabric, Batik, is suitable for curtains, sofas, bedheads, other upholstery and cushions.
Woven in England.
